15. Can I check out the condition of the hire car?
A: You will be asked to inspect the hire vehicle with a member of staff and agree and sign for any existing damage before the hire vehicle leaves the premises.
16. What happens if I'm involved in a road traffic collision?
A: First, seek medical attention if necessary. You should then take the relevant details of persons involved and make us aware
17. Is there a lower speed limit for vans than cars?
A. Yes there is and it is important that hire van drivers are aware of this. Please see the separate advice on this page, from the Dept of Transport website.
Sack Barrows & Sat Navs for Hire Vehicles
18. Is off-roading of hire vehicles permitted?
A: No, this is strictly prohibited in our Terms & Conditions.
19. Do you offer accessories with your rentals?
A: Yes, we offer Sat Nav, Sack Barrows and European Aid Bags. We have some child car seats - these should be booked in advance.
20. Can I Let Someone Else Drive the Rental Car?
A: You will need to list additional drivers on your rental contract at the time of pick up. If someone else drives the hire car without our consent your contract may be terminated and you will be fully liable for any third party claims.
Vehicle Rental Additional Drivers
21. Are additional drivers permitted?
A: Yes, additional drivers are allowed. Additional driver must meet the same age and driver license requirement and should be present at the time of rental. (£5 per day per each additional driver).
22. Is there an additional charge for fuel?
We run a ‘full to full’ hire policy. Any additional fuel that we need to put into the hire vehicle will be charged, plus a 15% handling charge. We would prefer you re-fuel the hire vehicle prior to returning it to us.
European Hire of Self Drive Vehicles
23. Is smoking permitted in the hire vehicles?
A: No, it is illegal to smoke in a hire vehicle in the UK. All of our hire vehicles have no smoking stickers in them.
24. What should I do if my hire vehicle breaks down?
A: A telephone number for breakdown assistance is provided on the rental agreement and should be used in the first instance. If you cannot get the required help from the AA or RAC, a mobile number is provided on our answer phone.
25. Do you let your hire vehicles go abroad?
A: Yes we do. Please see our European Hire pages
We offer a full European hire package including insurance, breakdown cover, all necessary documentation (V103b copy log book). We also include European sat nav hire and a first aid bag that contains – warning triangle fluorescent jacket, first aid kit & spare lamps.
Truck & Van Hire for Removal & Relocation
26. We are re-locating to Spain and need to take our furniture with us. We are considering doing the removal ourselves. Do you have a vehicle suitable for home removal?
A. Yes, we have a 7.5T truck that is suitable for undertaking home removals abroad. Please see the Spanish Hire page for details. Advice – we recommend that you familiarise with the local driving regulations in the countries through which you will pass. For example, there are restrictions on lorry movements in France at weekends.
27. Can you provide child & booster seats.
A. Yes we can, by prior arrangement. It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that the child seat is fitted corrected.
